This project has been funded by the European Union – NextGenerationEU, within the framework of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan.

The action is carried out under the call for grants aimed at financing energy efficiency and circular economy projects in tourism companies located in the Autonomous Community of the Canary Islands, managed by the Regional Ministry of Tourism and Employment of the Government of the Canary Islands, corresponding to Component 14, Investment 4, Sub-measure 2.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

The project entitled “ETGELY S.L. Energy Improvement Project” aims to enhance the energy efficiency of the non-hotel tourist activity GELIMAR, located on the island of Gran Canaria, in the municipality of Mogán, Puerto Rico.

To this end, various actions have been carried out to reduce energy consumption and move towards a more sustainable and decarbonised model.

The main actions implemented include:

  • Installation of a 15.99 kW photovoltaic self-consumption system, aimed at generating renewable energy to supply the activity.
  • Installation of a solar thermal system for domestic hot water (DHW) production, significantly reducing the energy consumption associated with this service.

These actions contribute to improving the energy efficiency of the facilities, reducing CO₂ emissions and promoting the use of renewable energy in the tourism sector.

AMOUNT OF THE GRANT

The project has an approximate total eligible investment of €38,059.77, of which
€35,858.77 corresponds to eligible energy-related actions, including project management and justification costs.

OBJECTIVE OF THE GRANT

The aim of these grants is to promote the energy transition and sustainability within the tourism sector in the Canary Islands, encouraging actions related to energy efficiency, renewable self-consumption and emission reduction.

These initiatives contribute to improving the competitiveness of the tourism business sector and advancing towards a cleaner and more efficient energy model in the archipelago.
